All clichés aside, I completely agree with whatever you wrote and I’m so glad you had the sense to get out early. As a financial planner I often see people drag out the inevitable at a severe financial and emotional cost. Having the courage to call it quits even in the face of potential family a position or disapproval takes a lot of guts!
