I’m a financial planner- CPA and CFP- and I work with people and their money for a living. I have seen the gamut from uber stingy to reckless spending. Neither extreme is desirable.

Stingy people just can’t spend money no matter how much is accumulating in the bank. They end up, passing away with millions that the next generation who didn’t earn it spends on their behalf.

The one excuse I make for them is that they are equally stingy with themselves as they are with other people. But they don’t realize there is no prize for being so frugal and they are just hurting themselves.
